College Day Annual Display Set for Tuesday
September 11, 2009

From as far away as the shores of California to as close as a walk across the GHS parking lot, college and university recruiters will gather on Tuesday, September 15 for GHS College Day.

This annual consortium of higher education gives the juniors and seniors the opportunity to begin visiting with recruiters in the decision making process of life after high school.

Although called College Day, the GHS counselors have made sure there are technical schools, armed forces recruiters and other secondary opportunities represented at this day.

Juniors will get the first look at the displays and visits during the 5th period class time and then the Class of 2010 will finish up the morning by using 6th period to finalize some college plans.

The recruiters not only hand out the freebies and dispense of all sorts of goodies, but they offer students the opportunity to get on mailing lists, ask questions about college content and in general give advice about how to attend the college of choice.

Greenville High School also hosts the last session of the day as the camps is open to junior and senior students from other schools. Invitations for attendance were made during the summer and those attending have made reservations and will bring their students after the GHS juniors and seniors have had time at College Day.

Something new this year will be the GHS teachers joining in with their own college push, as they will be wearing their college colors or jerseys on Tuesday.
