Garrett Kilgore, 15, of Greenville, was one of
more than 3,000 people who participated in the
Muscular Dystrophy Association's Stride & Ride
at Cowboys Stadium this past weekend.
The event raised more than $500,000 to help
find a cure for muscular dystrophy.
Kilgore didn't take his ride alone, as
fourteen of his family members and friends
attended the event with him.
More
than 3,000 people braved freezing temperatures
to walk or ride powered wheelchairs or
scooters one mile around the concourse at the
Arlington stadium. The Muscular
Dystrophy Association moved the walk to the
location after outgrowing its old site at
Grapevine Mills mall. Organizers said
the new venue helped bring in a record crowd.
