Lisa
Michelle Malone is the Valedictorian for
Greenville High School's Class of 2010.
The
daughter of Myron and Bonita Malone, Malone
will lead graduates in GHS Commencement
Ceremonies, set for 8pm on Friday, June 4 at
T.A. "Cotton" Ford Stadium.
Malone has been a member of the Lion Pride
Marching Band for four years, playing flute
and piccolo and having served as Band Captain
and, most recently, Assistant Drum Major.
She won honors at UIL Regional and State Solo
and Ensemble Competition for four years, was
named to All-Region Band for three years,
All-Area Band for two years and All Region
Orchestra her senior year.
In
2008, she was named as a Texas Music Educators
Association Music Scholar.
Malone was also a member of the GHS Varsity
Tennis Team and competed in UIL Debate.
She was a member of Interact Club, English
Appreciation Club and the National Honor
Society.
A
three-year Superintendent Scholar, she
participated her junior year in the Texas High
School Aerospace Scholars program, which
culminated in a week of activities at NASA.
She has enjoyed being a part of GHS's
Independent Study Mentorship Program this
year, with a focus on Aerospace Engineering.
Outside of school, Lisa is an active member of
Wesley United Methodist Church, where she
participates in the Youth Group and Youth Bell
Choir. Lisa is also an avid dancer,
having studied dance for 16 years.
After graduation, Lisa plans to attend Texas
A&M University College Station and major in
Aerospace Engineering, hoping to someday have
a career at NASA.
Earning salutatorian honors is Meghan
Christine Litchfield, the daughter of
Bryan and Amy Litchfield.
A
four-year Superintendent Scholar winner,
Litchfield made the All District Volleyball
Second Team and was also honored by classmates
and faculty at the annual Favorites Dance with
Outstanding Senior and Best All-Around Girl
honors.
She
was involved with countless organizations at
GHS and served as President of the Foreign
Language Honor Society and Vice President of
the Spanish Club. She was a member of
the National Honor Society, L.O.V.E. (Lions
Offering Volunteer Excellence), Spanish Club
and Foreign Language Club.
Litchfield has received scholarships from
Texas A&M Commerce (Honors College,
Presidential, Columbia Crew Endowment for
Excellence), Greenville Council PTA, James
Bowie Elementary PTA and the Greenville
Athletic Booster Club.
Meghan will begin at the Texas A&M-Commerce
Honor College in the fall and work to earn a
double major in Finance and Math. After
receiving her bachelor degree, she plans to
continue her education and earn her master's
degree.
A
member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church, she
has helped with several of the children
programs there and served as a mentor for the
children. She has taught bible study
classes and volleyball skills classes.
