Annual Sports Banquet Honors Most Valuable
Players

"I'm
happy to be back in Greenville, working with
the greatest kids in the country," said Coach
Chawn Cooper.
His
address at the athletic banquet on May 22 let
those gathered know he was home and ready to
lead the athletic program with a new staff, a
new direction and with respect for the student
athletes.
The
annual banquet recognizes students and
achievements in all GHS sports. Earning
accolades for the year were:
State qualifier Jessica Franklin, who took
third in the Class 4A long jump at the state
meet, earned the girls track and field most
valuable player award.
Ryan
Wilhelm, who signed a letter of intent with
Harding University (Ark.), earned the MVP in
boys soccer.
Also
earning most valuable players were Dijoun
Sheppard (boys track and field), Viktoria
Wolf, Connor Mulkey and Skylar Pruner
(tennis), Julia Hernandez (girls soccer),
Devonte Green (boys basketball), Olivia Carter
(girls basketball), Austin Stanphill and
Olivia Ash (golf), Brad Ratliff (baseball),
Sidney Tippit and Rachael Cook (softball),
Morgan Bloyed (volleyball), Brittany Lee Davis
(powerlifting), Alton Dennis (offensive
football), and Tristian Farley (defensive
football).
